Kim Peterson is a seasoned paralegal with over 25 years of experience in family law. She brings a unique perspective to her work through her background. Kim has a Bachelor of Art degree in Criminal Justice, worked in law enforcement, has a paralegal degree, and is a Licensed Legal Paraprofessional.
Before embarking on her legal career, Kim served as an undercover narcotics agent in North Dakota. This experience gave her a strong sense of justice, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex situations with discretion and professionalism. Her experience as a woman in a male-dominated field has instilled in her a strong sense of resilience and determination.
Kim’s dedication to helping others led her to pursue a career in family law. She is passionate about assisting clients during one of the most challenging times in their lives and providing compassionate support throughout the family law process.
Kim’s keen listening skills and empathetic approach, combined with her sharp legal acumen, enable her to effectively advocate for her clients’ best interests, often creating lasting relationships with her clients. For Kim, these relationships and helping others achieve their goals through such an emotional time in their lives is one of the most rewarding aspects of her job.
Kim was sworn in with Colorado’s first class of Licensed Legal Paraprofessionals (LLP) in June of 2024, and is dedicated to assisting clients through the family law court process.
When Kim is not immersed in her work, she cherishes quality time with her family and friends, traveling and exploring new places, attending music events, and enthusiastically supporting her two daughters in their activities.
