Emily brings a sense of justice to family law. Over nearly 20 years of service as a prosecutor, she helped thousands of people get their lives back. She is one of the most experienced trial lawyers in Colorado, and now leverages her skills to protect you and your family.
She combines her desire to help families resolve their disputes with a natural command of the courtroom when litigation is necessary. With grace and electrifying intelligence, she uses ninja-like tactics to create opportunities for positive outcomes that few other attorneys can match.
Emily Warren received her law degree from Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley. She worked as a prosecutor in the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office for 19 years, and was a Chief Deputy when she left that office. She transitioned to family law when she joined Gutterman Griffiths in early 2015.
Emily is a resolution oriented divorce attorney, who has been trained in the collaborative divorce process. Because of her work at the DA’s office where, among other things, she spent years prosecuting defendants who committed sexual or serious physical abuse against children, she has a great deal of experience working with people when they are under emotional stress.
Although Emily believes that most family law cases are appropriate to resolve amicably, especially when children are involved or when the parties own a successful family business, she recognizes that sometimes cases cannot be settled. In that instance, she is an outstanding trial attorney with more courtroom experience than most family law attorneys, and she brings all of her courtroom skills to bear for the benefit of her clients.
