Carolyn C. Witkus

Carolyn’s commitment to family law came from seeing her clients through a difficult journey and out the other side as stronger, more confident people. After 13 years at Griffiths Law, and with a background in economics and English, there is no complex issue, financial and otherwise, that Carolyn cannot tackle.

Through a combination of ferocious courtroom advocacy and nuanced settlement tactics, Carolyn will be your voice, your ally, and your safe sounding-board as you navigate every challenging family law issue.

Carolyn specializes in complex asset, high net worth and high conflict cases.  These include cases with issues involving businesses, complex compensation, unusual assets, dissipation of assets, separate property tracing, marital/prenuptial agreements, trust assets, and oil and gas assets.  She also has extensive experience with high conflict parenting issues, including pre- and post-divorce relocations with children, cases with intractable parenting issues, and contempt matters.

Leveraging her significant trial experience, Carolyn comes to the settlement table with the ability to think fast on her feet, turn on a dime, and tell your story in a persuasive fashion to reach resolution for your case by assessing the situation from all sides, analyzing your risks and upsides, understanding your marital estate and family, and negotiating from a position of strength.  And if negotiations fail, she is ready to take your case into the courtroom and secure the best possible outcome.

Carolyn also serves as a board member for local non-profit Bayaud Enterprises, where she first co-founded the Enterprising Women’s Giving Circle initiative. She has been recognized for her professional excellence and community service by the Denver Business Journal, named as one of 2019’s “40 Under 40” and CoBiz Magazine, as a 2019 top 25 “Gen XYZ” recipient.  Prior, she was also one of the five winners of the 2018 Colorado Women’s Bar Association Raising the Bar honor.
